New peanut allergy research and education efforts: Ali Berg, a registered dietitian, nutritionist and associate professor in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences, is leading UGA’s efforts to close the information gap on early peanut introduction to reduce allergy risks. Supported by UGA Extension and Southern Peanut Growers, Berg’s work includes developing training materials for parents and childcare providers, focusing on early dietary guidelines that could reduce the risk of developing peanut allergies by up to 86%.
